For eight years, Willy worked on behalf of the City of New York as Chief Creative Officer at NYC & Company. He led cross-functional teams that enhanced experiences for visitors and residents.

Recent collaborations include Turnstyle, Mark Foods, Row House (acquired), Motivate CitiBike, Park108, Index (acquired), Van Alen Institute’s National Parks Now, ArtPlace America, various editorial projects, and special initiatives for foundation and non-profit clients.

He is former president of AIGA/NY and has served on the board of the Center for Urban Pedagogy, and advisory committees for Times Square Arts, NYC Landmarks 50, Hudson River ParkAdobe Partners by DesignSXSW Interactive.

Willy teaches at the School of Visual Art’s MFA Design and BFA Interaction Design programs, as well as at The New School College of Performing Arts. He’s been guest critic/lecturer at Parsons, Cooper Union, MICA, NYU, Columbia, Princeton and Yale.

For his creative endeavors, Willy’s been featured as Print Magazine’s New Visual Artist,  Art Directors Club’s Young Guns, Crains’ 40 under 40.

Willy earned his AB from Dartmouth College and MFA from Yale University.
